Congratulations on your decision to use Milestone Localizer! You won't regret it, we promise!
If you are running a trial version of Localizer, then you really just need to launch our tool, select an Iron Speed application, and click the Localize button. That's it. However, note that the trial version only works with 3 tables and 30 fields. So if you wonder why your application did not completely get localized, that is why.
Licensed Users of Milestone Localizer
When you first launched Localizer, you probably noticed a message like "Trial Version" in the caption bar of the program. Let's get rid of that message first. Click the menu option Help-Activate License. You should see a screen like this:
Enter the License Code you received via email when you purchased Localizer online, or via credit card on the telephone. Click the Register button.
If you pasted the license key correctly, then you will see that annoying trial message disappear on the main window caption bar. Whew. On to the next step.
Getting an API Key
In order to translate properly, you will need to obtain an API key from either Microsoft or Google. Both translation engines work well, you be the judge. The Google API key takes more work, but it cheaper in the long run. By cheap for example, the Google Translate Engine allows for up to 200,000 characters of translation per day. Hopefully that is enough for you. At that level, you are looking at pennies in cost. Cheap.
- Click the menu option Tools and see the following choices:
Select either the Microsoft or Google API menu choice. You decide!
With that done, we are ready to begin our first translation!
We have tested Iron Speed Designer against the following versions:
Version 9.0.1, 9.1, 9.2.1, 10.2.1, 11.0, 11.1, 12.02, 12.1
While Localizer may work with other previous versions, we do not actively support them; and we cannot provide free support to you for any version prior to version 10.x. Please consider upgrading to the latest version and reap the benefits of Iron Speed Designer 12. Our tool likes it better too.
Localizing an Iron Speed Designer Application
Note: Localizer will perform a full analysis of your application prior to localizing your application. If you are working with a large application (tons of tables/views/pages etc.), then you can always localize for one language now, and do the rest later. Or you can localize a single page via the Process Single Page choice on the Tools Menu. Also note that there is a check box under the Analyze button. If you have a huge schema, leave this unchecked, and the analysis process will be much faster.
